I Choose Recovery

As my addiction took hold and control of my soul I found myself irretrievably drawn into a world governed by deep regret and great sadness. Lost dreams, past choices and what was missing from my life dominated every cons...cious and unconscious thought until my spiritual world became a wasteland of sorrow, resentment and fear.

But in recovery I came to understand that there was another world of love, joy and hope that existed simultaneously within me like a parallel universe. And as my understanding grew of these two worlds I realized that the power to choose between these realities was mine and mine alone. A conscious choice I must make ever day….a decision to dwell either in the wasteland of past illusions or the abundance of today.

In Recovery…I choose today, one day at a time.

You are absolutely amazing. Thank-you for this again Kamanlove. Another valuable lesson for me to learn. I think this is a lesson everyone should learn. Keep it up and know you are helping people. Helping others also helps yourself which you already know.

I can only pray that my son can face his addictions and past as you have. Thanks for sharing.

Drugs and alcohol have become a curse to the humanity. It is great that there are organizations which help the addicts recover from the stronghold of such evil. Your blog is doing a great job by posting the experiences of the recovered people.
